Who's running no oil cooler?

I don't run oil cooler for now. Completely eliminated stock/coolant type/ oil cooler. Actually, it is like oil heater, not cooler. Been like this for few months. I change my oil every 800-1000 miles. Car is not DD. Installed new NT water pipe for that reason.

Why did you choose forward facing OFH ???

I know you are running HX-52 and this thing is huge, but forward facing OFH is not going to help you much, I think. My friend runs Borg Warner S372/it is bigger than HX52/ and he has this type/forward facing/ OFH. The oil filter hits LICP, literally. You have to remove LICP, in order to change oil. Most people go with 1990 OFH, for ease of installation. I don't like it too much. It allows you to run oil cooler, but you are stuck with small/short filter, because of the big DP and or dump tube/if you have external WG. Filter gets really hot.

Myself I bought Perma Cool oil filter relocation kit with Earl's oil cooler. Filter will stay in the fender well, next to wiper reservoir bottle. It is going to be a big ass/1Quart/ filter. This is important cause the bigger the filter, the better filtration you get, plus if your car is DD, you don't have to change oil as often. I am going to have total oil capacity around 6 1/2 quarts, by my calculation. And changing the oil will be easier, cause filter will be facing upside down, so no spills and mess. Just unscrew it, take it out, fill the new one with oil, bolt it. I don't have a garage, so I have to keep my landlord's driveway clean.
I still haven't installed this thing yet, but you will need to weld or bolt some brackets in fender well. Little fabrication is needed. It is a little more expensive and comlicated, but for me is worth it.

P.S. If you have enough room/between OFH and LICP/ , even with forward facing filter you could run same system, that I will be running. The rest is up to you.

The reason I plan on running the Forward facing oil filter is to free up some room for my 4" exhaust past the frame because I am running a side exit out the bumper. Seems like with the front facing bracket, it will allow more clearance.
Another reason I thought of running it is because there is no room for that line that runs along the block that goes from the oil filter housing to the thermostat housing. I figured i'd elminate all the lines by running the foward facing bracket.

I think right now I may just loop the coolant lines for the oil filter housing and cut the frame a little bit. (Jake ie. evil~eagle suggested cutting the frame a bit) Would looping the lines be okay? Then I would just run the N/A water pipe.

ya it should be fine. But when running no oil cooler you'll have to change the oil more often. The stock water cooled system doesn't work to good anyway. But since a holset doesn't have any provision's for coolant I"d think you'd be best off with a external oil cooler if you plan on driving the car hard for extended periods of time.

I will eventually run a 90 OFH and have a nice external setup. But I just wanted to make sure not running any oil cooling for a few thousand miles will be okay. I won't be running it hard for long periods of time either, nothing like road racing. Just a pull once in a while but mostly normal driving for work and school etc... Then the 3 hour trip to the DSM shootout in Ohio of course as well.

If your wanting more room right there why dont you get that Alternator relocation kit that moves it to the back of the block..
Alternator is already gone.

Here's what I am talking about. Need some more room, as it touches the frame which makes it impossible to uninstall my exhaust unless I take off the turbo.

I have a forward facing oil filter housing. I cant hardly remember why I got it, I just remember my old oil filter housing always leaking and I picked this one up for like 20bucks so wasnt a big deal.
I do wish it had more provisions in it though in case I wanted to run oil cooler/ oil dummy light/ or oil line for a oil gauge or turbo oil line, but Id have to custom make a bung for all that stuff in it if I ever needed it. And Ive never ran an oil cooler since ive owned this car.
I run only Mobil1 full synthetic 15w50 oil and change my oil every 2000-3500 miles depending....

I dont have one and its no issue. My mechanic even checked oil temps on a car without one and they raised like 1* so its not an issue. I got mine off of a hyundai from a junkyard. Its nice since it takes a 2g oil filter thats a lot smaller and cleaner looking. Plus you dont have a leaking oil cooler.

If you road race or hot lap, do lots of autox events and are in high rpms/ boost for long extended periods of time, then I recommend having some decent form of oil cooler.

If the car is only taken for a couple tuning pulls here and there, driven regular on the street, and/or driven down the 1320 as just a "drag car" then I wouldnt worry about it.
