Removed my oil pan to redo gasket. Found a few small metal shavings. They are NOT magnetic leading me to believe that they might have come from the head. Although it's hard to see in the pics, one side of the fragments have that classic rough, cast texture (first pic) just like the inside of the head. Second pic shows the shiny side. Car is running great, no unusual noises (except from tranny ).

Anything in particular I should look for before replacing the oil pan? I already gave it a once over and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Haven't pulled the VC although I had it off last month and everything looked fine.

I'm thinking I might have accidentally gouged the inside of the head when I installed my ARP head studs which I did without removing the head.

Any opinions/suggestions are appreciated.:)
