I had Mits. dealership put in new long block and I had only put in about 10k miles on it. Since the then, the timing belt always had a very small wining sound to it at low rpms. The mechanics told me to drive it for awhile and it will eventally go away. Now at 10k, it has gone worst. Its sounds like a police siron wining during start up. Took it back to the shop the other day and they found that shaft sensor had gone out and one of the pulley had siezed cuasing the timing belt to skip and bent my intake valves.

I haven't been driving my car much and it had been sitting since the new motor in summer 2006. I did a compression and came out 155psi across 4 cylinders. I also know that if the valves are bent, I'll be hearing very loud ticks coming from the motor and thats not the case. I am not sure if the dealership wants to steal money from me but, my car still runs stronge as it came out of the shop in 2006.

I need some suggestions on what to tell the shop. Can valves be really bent like they say?

Thanks

if the valves were bent then you wouldnt have compression the wining sound is ###### something on the timing side goin bad one of those tensioners so with that said the car also wont start or will run very bad if the valves are bent! good luck

Im sure the car wouldnt start if bent valves were the case. My valves bent and the car would only turn over, no start. As for the wining, check all belts as well as the smaller timing belt

New longblock ???? No warranty ?

Yeah, the dealership gives out a warranty for 12months or one year which ever comes first. Its been 1.5 years now and the problem got worst.

Pretty funny how they told me that I bent the valves. I didn't tow the car there, I drove like 5-10 miles to get there and it drives fine.

Problem now; they said pulley siezed cause timing to skip and broke off one rocker arm and bented valves.

12 months is a year
sounds like you brought your car to a bunch of scam artists. you should have taken it to another shop and had them look at it, and not told them what your shop said. this would for sure tell you if it were the case.
