So I installed one of those crank sleeves (crank savers) on the flywheel end of the crank. The curved end of it doesn't fit flush with the end of the crank and it seems as though the thing won't go on any further due to the end being slightly curved (has an inward lip or curl probably to help with installation).
I wanted to see if this would interfere with the flywheel sitting flush so I test bolted the flywheel to the crank. It went on most of the way but scarred up the lip of the sleeve. I'm not totally sure it went on all the way. I tightened the bolts equally in a pattern. The flywheel needed a few taps with a deadblow hammer to remove.
Is this a big deal?
Anyone else had any fitment problems with crank repair sleeves or "crank savers"?
