After reading up on MKIV Supras for a while you will eventually find out about their dual MAF trick. Basically a single MAF will flow only enough to match about 500whp or so without becoming a restriction itself. Now the Supra guys have began (for a few years now) using dual MAF's as a cheap alternative to the VPC. They will install a form of a "Y" intake pipe with dual MAF's at each of the tip and the filter at the other end, and then they will attach one of the MAF's up to the factory harness, and then the other MAF's runs off of the same wiring as the original one EXCEPT the output signal for the airflow. Instead they use the Safc's blue wire to connect to the output signal. They then adjust fuel accordingly. It appears that it is a very basic recalibration that would need to be performed on the Safc in the beginning to account for the lost air value, but that exact value could be picked up by the Blue wire mod easy. What are your thoughts on this. I want a nice in depth discussion about this, as the physical aspects of this project would be very easy to do, just the tuning would be the difficult part IMO. There is the threat of potentially running rediculously lean in the beginning, so some initial calculations would need to be made for sure. If this works however, we could potentially have the intake power of a VPC with the cost of around 150 dollars total or so.
