Ok my friend is going to be rebuilding the motor out of his 91 laser in the near future any suggestions as far as parts, venders, etc. the car now has 173K on it, looking towards stock rebuild mostly (max HP in the end maybe 300-350 whp (91 laser rs fwd turbo 5 speed). anything suggestions, idea's, ?'s, anything at all

Stock parts work best but are pricey for those with strapped cash. In that case, a good hone on a drill works well and a micropolished crank. Match all that up with Topline piston rings, a Felpro bottom end gasket kit and ACL bearings and you will be happy with the results. I've done both and to be honest, the Topline/ACL motor turned out better (which was probably due to it being my third motor job and having a little more experience).

ok so my buddy is not rebuilding the '6. he's selling it to buy a cyclone instead, how much can I offer for this and still be fair to both of us? it is only going to be a block, main caps, bearings, rods, pistons, rings, etc. (short block)? I'm thinking 300? yes?, no? buy yhe way it has 173K and only rev's to like 2500 with 3-6 psi in the car that it's in now
