Cracks in the head, umm are these supposed to be here?

Alright, so my car overheated and blew my headgasket. i got the head off and checked for cracks, i found some cracks in the webbings that are in the intake ports. I don't have any pictures of mine but i did a search on images.google.com and i found the same thing on every head i looked at. Is this normal? here is what i'm talking about:

IGNORE THE YELLOW ARROW (i'm actually referring to the webbing that separates the valve chambers, you can see the crack well in this picture)

Those are not cracks, they are casting lines. They are normal and nothing to worry about.

I don't think you'd see a crack in a perfectly smooth curve.
