How to sump in fuel tank w/external fuel pump

I am going with an external fuel pump and I would like to know what people do for fuel sumps. Just a stainless line in the fuel tank with a fuel filter? Any special fittings required? Thanks.

Thanks, but the problem is that is a fuel cell and I am looking to use my stock tank. But that is a good start.

Or take your car to any competent shop that welds and they should be able to sump it for you.

Ah, that part at Summit looks promising...but it would really screw with my ground clearance if I were to mount that on the bottom of the tank...hmmm...thanks a ton for your help. Looks like I'll be dropping the tank tomorrow to figure this out.

You might want to just tap the bottom of your fuel tank with a standard AN fitting right in the middle of all the baffling, below where the stock pump would reside. Run that line to your external, and call it a day. Just make sure your external is below the level of the bottom of the cell. All the baffling would do a good job of keeping fuel to the pump, same thing a sump is used for.
