I don't have any experience changing out the timing belt on my 4G63t Colt and I want to learn instead of paying a mechanic to do it. Besides the timing belt I want to change the pulleys, hydraulic tensioner,bs belt and water pump. I won't be doing this prob until the weather breaks, unless someone has a garage and is close. My Colt is under a cover right now since I don't have a garage, and the heater doesn't work LOL.

Its a pretty easy job to do any service manual for the car would tell you exactly how to do it i would try that. or search for step by step directions online im sure someone has a post with that in it, if i lived closer id come give you a hand with it.

I've watched several videos, one an actual Chrysler video, and have a pdf of the service manual. I prefer to have someone that has some experience on-hand. THe Chrysler video did make it look easy, that's been part of my motivation to learn, that and the money I can save plus satisfaction I did it myself. If I had a garage I would already be tearing into it :D

Edit: forgot about wanting to change to a '90 oil filter housing too,and still haven't sourced one. C'mon spring!! LOL

Yea i understand its not a job you want to go bad cus that will get expensive but the oil filter housing is very simple to change once you get it all apart for the timing belt its real simple to unbolt and swap.

If you can wait till spring I can help you with it but I think both of us need to come up with somewhere to do it at I don't think the autozone off tusc will allow us to do it there ;-) but let me know if you still have my number text me and we can figure it out more. I know a few guys i can probably fine another oil filter housing too i'll call around and try to track you down one.

Sweet!! I have no problem waiting,I'm in parts buying mode now haha! I have to look around for my old phone that has your digits,or you can pm me it. I have a nice and level concrete pad that I use to work on my cars, def no Autozone parking lot LOL
