Vancouver,
Alright, I tried a search - and it failed every time. So if this has already been covered, my apologies.

I drive a 93 TSi AWD and I got crankwalk. So, I picked up a 6bolt block/crank, and am doing a healthy buildup. I've got the opportunity to pick up some 2G pistons. All the documentation I've read regarding 2G pistons always mention "95 pistons".

My question is ... is there any difference between 95 and 96-98 pistons? There was a comment made on another site (can't recall the site atm) about the 95 pistons being a different cast than the 96/7/8's. That they're more superior than 96-98. From a manufacturing standpoint, I can't see this without it being rather well documented.

Thanks for your time :)

Wicked, thnx for the quick reply.

I have the choice of picking 2G pistons out of a bucket at a local shop, or pickin up a set of 97 pistons from one of our club members. While I'd prefer to support local club members, my primary concern is my own performance (duh).
