Evo8 FMIC on a 2g (plans)

Here's somthing i thought up while I was at work. Its just a rough sketch w/out any measurements right now. I believe this setup will work with some cutting and hacking, and the right parts. The hardest part I came accross, was the downward bends on the endtanks and the foglight clearance.

Please, input your ideas or comments.

thats the best i can do right now (its a little sloppy). Just save the pic and open it up in windows viewer. (its huge right now!)

Well, you could find the FMIC for $200-400 on ebay or local. For my case, I will only need 2-90deg pipes, 1-2ft pipe (for cutting and extra sections), 3-45deg couplings, and the other couplings from NAPA or a truck store (radiator hose).

Total, it should be about $400 at the most.

Whats a few more bucks for a proven FMIC? Im not understanding your logic.

It looks like your design is for a 16g or similar requiring a j-pipe. If this is the case, in order to route the outlet piping (relative to the turbo) you'll need a j-pipe designed as such. The standard j-pipes for use with a stock-i/c routing config angle towards the driver's side, over the crossmember/motor-mount. This is a problem since the motor mount will be in the way if you try to route it back towards the driver's side. Buschur (and other places, if you do some searching) have a j-pipe that comes out on the driver's side of the motor mount. I used this on my 16g with my fmic before I upgraded to a 50 trim which already outlets down and on the driver's side of the mount.
