Aloha,
I just picked up the S-AFC II and plan on putting it in this weekend.(provided I can get my car running) I also picked up one of those fancy multi-meters with more functions than I can use. I did notice that the multi-meter has a temperature probe capable of measuring temps up to 1400dg Farrenheit. I was wondering if I could utilize this probe for EG temps as a tuning aid? What are the average EGT's in 1G's? By the way, pocketloggers are proving kinda difficult to find, does the S-AFC II posess enough functionality to SAFELY tune a vehicle without logging capability? (Opinions, experiences please) Thanks for any input I and the Talon both appreciate it. :thumb:

I am pretty sure your multimeter can't handle constant heat above 1000 degrees, so I am going to say no. I run the SAFCII and there is not enough features to tune a car at all. The knock display is weak, and I wouldn't trust the numbers at all. You need a datalogger to tune your car, there is no getting around that. Fuel trims, Timing, Knock, Injector P/W, 02 Values, and EGT's. You need those to tune your car well. Hope that helps.
