This is an intercooler from an 88 Supra. Does anybody know any "useful" info about this intercooler? More specifically how does it compare to the 1G smic? Better? Worse? Anybody using one that had it flow tested? Lots of questions... no answers... help please.
BTW core measurements are: 18 1/2" L 12" H 2 1/2 W

Unless you have lots of free time, free materials, a nice welder...etc it is NOT worth it for our cars. Its basically like getting a big starion and then paying the money to have end tanks and piping done up for it cause you would need it for the MK3 intercooler. They stink for efficiency, are ugly as sin and woudl be a waste of money when compared with all the other options out there...

Yeah, I already saw that thread that you linked me to... I even "posted" a thread to another thread about Starions in that thread. LOL Ok you say it sucks for efficiency Im sure it does compared to "high dollar" cores but that one is available to me for only $70 so I want to know if it will ONE UP a stock smic. Thanks for the response. BTW I dont care about the looks because I like that sleeper appeal.

just my .02

Not sure what you meant by "hacker" front mounts but the one I posted only cost me $70 bucks... I havent seen a core on the planet that was even CLOSE to the size of this one for the price. I plan to fab my own piping and give it a try.

G/L with it, but personally I'd turn and run.
What does G/L with it mean? And why would you not use it? I value opinions based on reasoning and you're not getting your point across well.

I am currently running a MKIV Sidemount, and it rocks man...I decided against teh FMIC cause of adverse conditions up where I live for most of the year...Instead of that I/C you pick up, see if you can get rid of it and go with a Supra Sidemount...they are a lot better, unless you only want the FMIC part of it...

Yeah, I think I will just take your advice on that one. I've been getting some bad feedback on that fmic that you saw. So, your supra side mount performs well huh? I'll see if I can find one for a decent price somewhere. Thanks for the feedback.

If you want a sweet ass SMIC, go with the ADFX one. They are huge, and direct bolt in :thumb:

ADFX vs 2G DSM

Thanks for another option... Im going to do a lil research on that core and see how much they cost.

Hey they have some pretty affordable front mount kits on there too. Thanks for the link. Im going to get the scoop on those cores. BTW that sidemount core outflows the Supra sidemount and bolts on directly... almost cant get any better than that.

Get the Supra SMIC. That made me very happy until I got my FMIC. Its a great upgrade.

yeah, this SMIC by ADFX outflows the supra sidemount. Your getting the best of both worlds with the ADFX SMIC Out flows the supra sidemount, and is a direct bolt in... Very good looking IC if you want the sleeper type look.

I would never spend that much on an intercooler that may only be a tad bit better if not the same in performance as a $75-$100 Supra sidemount intercooler...If your spending $300, wait a lil more and buy a FMIC. Just my .02!
