Hey,

I'm really getting into the idea of tuning my own car since I've got a lot of basics (I also need to monitor a few things when needed)

I have a great 2.3 ghz laptop sitting at the house but no palm pilot. My choices of programs are either the tunerstein or the TMO. But this leaves me with a question.

The only thing that I'm missing is the cable and most places I see only sell them for the PDAs. Where could I go about getting a cable that will work with the system for a relatively good price? I could make my own (if I saw some schematics) but I'd pay the extra $ just to make sure I'm getting precise readings from my car.

Thanks,
Daniel

edit: I meant for this to be in the newb section. My fault.

Make sure your laptop has a serial port, lots of new fancy laptops dropped the db9 connector. If you want a laptop or PDA cable visit dsmparts.com it will run you 69.99. Go with TMO, tunerstein is a POS. Everytime you start up your car, you have to setup all the windows you want to monitor, and the log viewer/player is completely worthless. Setting up tunerstein was a bear, it doesn't like Windows XP/2000, I had to edit lines in the registry to get it work correctly. Pocketlogger is the way to go, it's cheap for a PDA, and you can always have it in your car. Hope that helps...lates

Lmao

Thanks for the help. I just ordered from dsmparts that very line.

But the reason I think it's funny is I have my 92 Talon TSi AWD *exact same car) in girl Teal (exact same color) and now it's painted a flat black (exact color change). I back your color change 100% :thumb:
