Im putting a 1g turbo talen engine in a 1g eclipse N/T car, But first im going to rebuild the engine. What kind of rods, piston, piston rings, and head gasket would be suggested for a 20 psi boost in the engine?

First off, it really depends on what kind of turbo your using:

i.e. -- 20lbs on a 16g, is ALOT different than say 20lbs on a 60-1.

my recommendation would be do it right the first time...

JE 9:1 pistons
Eagle ESP H-Beam rods
ARP head studs
Steel Mitsu head gasket

I currently have this set-up and have had nothing but positive results .

all u need is a new 6 bolt with 1g big rods and 95 pistons, arp head studs and oem or multy layer head gasket, you will be just fine with this setup with a b16g and 20 psi, key work though is tunning.

Stock internals should hold 20psi just fine, if you have other supporting mods such as fuel pump, injectors, etc. I ran 18-20 psi on race gas on my 187k mile stock 1g motor with no probs for a long time.

Since then I messed up by running a little too hard when trying to tune my new 20g, and I think I leaned out too much, as I seized all 4 of my oil rings.

i ment with either the stock 6 or 7 bolt and a b16g it would be realy hard to over run your block. you wouldnt be able to make as much power with that b16g to over run your stock engine.

ya your block could take u to any power u want with that b16g, aslong as your tunning is good, who tunes for you, is it a shop who know what there doing or is it you thats what it willl come down to

WTF did you just say :p
After trying to read it twice I gave up.

What year 4g63 block is it?
If its 90-92 just slap some arp head studs in and call it good.
I guess you could do a compression check while your at it.

With the 7.8:1  compression found in the 1g's, your bottom end can handle 20psi all day long. Just make sure you have the fuel to back it up.

o also i just read what kind of car you have and its a n/t so you will have to build it. while your in there you should just build it for race then if you have the money.

ross/eagle combo
arp hardware
oem head gasket

At least someone got it. I told everyone, from now on every vague question that's answer is affected by more that 345478 variables, the answer to that question shall from this point forward be 7.

How much boost can I run with race gas?

7.

What is the best exhaust for a 93 Talon?

7.

What do you think my car will run at the track?

How many times has NosLaser slept with my sister?

Why wouldent you put JE pistons in a car you drive daily?
Would 2g pistons work in a 1g turbo eclipse with 20psi driven on a regular bases.

That last one just doesn't work.

Funny quotient: 10

Logic quotient: 1

A for effort though.

2g pistons are overrated. After you spend the money to get them mounted and stuff, you're no cheaper than proper aftermarket pistons.

Keep the stockers, or get good ones. Don't middle around.

So would JE pistons be good ones to use? Do they need any extra work before installing them into the engine or something?

What I want to do is take a 1g gsx engine rebuild it add an B16G Turbo with Boost control to get up the boost probably to 20PSI and put it into a 1g GS Eclipse.

just get a ross piston eagle rod setup. best bang for your buck. although some say wiscos i still like ross. arp headbolts and a multilayer headgasket from satan (dealer) and you will be set.

Oh, you mean I have to put logic into my sarcastic posts? Doh!
