Every time I take a look at a compressor flow map, they all look the same to me. Now I know there is a way to read them, but I don't know how.

My first question is how to interpret the pressure ratio and what is it?
Ex: PC2/PC1 ( What is that ratio? )

How can I read a compressor flow map in terms of psi or how can I convert the table to that?

Thanks for any info. :thumb:

Do a yahoo search on it. More specifically, there is an article from SCC that pretty much spells it out. I can try and copy it and email it if you want me to.

Pretty much, you say you want to run Xpsi at XXXXrpm. Do a bunch of math and come up with a pressure ratio and a cfm (I think) plot this point and see if it's inside the compressor's highest efficiency island. If it is, it's the right compressor for you.

Let me know if you want me to copy the article or not.
