My car is spiking up to 16psi and holding steady at 15 and i have no boost controler what is up with this, i have a joe-p ready to be put in, but I don't want to put it in yet cause I'm worried that my boost gauge could be off. its an autometer 30/30 and when the engine is shut off the needle is at bottom of the box deal not in the middle like it should. I have a stock downpipe and o2 housing with cat, and a 2.5" catback. i have a 3" o2 downpipe with a 3" electric cut-out in my trunk just needs to be welded together.

Am i getting boost creep? The thing is though I can run it at 75% WOT and still boost between 14-15. Its pretty cold

I'm running it 90 octane too. i'm to cheap to pay the extra .15 gallon for 1 more octane. I hope it don't kill its self.

^^ yeah, what is the issue? Are you asking about the 16 psi spike? It says you have 2.5 inch catback. Sometimes you can gain a p.s.i. or 2 when changing the exhaust. When you start to uncork the exhaust, there will be issues of boost creep. You will notice more boost creep when you change the downpipe too. It's pretty normal. I have a Apexi N1 turbo back exhaust with a 3 inch hi flow cat and I creep to around 19 pounds. By the way, you got a DSM for its shear ferocity, give the beast a drink better than 90 octane gas. You only get what you put in and in your case it would seem you are not looking to get the most from your car. Every little bit counts. Your car will thank you.

O i was told around 12 for a 2g. So the fuel system pretty much is maxxed out with the factory BCS then.

The 2G's run at 14 psi stock. if you do the free bcs mod restrictor removal you can gain 2 more. Then your exaust, downpipe can kick you up some more. 16psi is the max your turbo and fuel system can take (for long.)...I have a 16g with only a 450's, a 255lpm fuel pump and S-AFC and I run Pig rich on the BCS @ 15psi with the AFC zero'd out (Tested on a wide band and dyno). At -9 I still am at 12 A/F ratio. But every DSM is different.

Get to a dyno, put the boost controller in and run the higher octane gas, and don't let your boost get above 16psi.

Running the higher octane will also reduce your chances of detination through reduced knock...:thumb:

on 55-60 degree mornings my car boost a constant 17 psi and spike to about 19. On a regular day it runs about 15 psi and spikes to 17. i think its normal.:dsm:

stock psi is 14, but on a 100% stock 2g it will only do 12 due to the cbv. change the cbv, and the true stock psi (14) will be seen.
