Guys I am reallying thinking of getting an external wastegate after dealing with boost creep and spike issues.

I have found a nice setup for pretty reasonable I think.

How streetable is an external wastegate with external dump tube.?

I have no emmissions testing where I live. Can you mount some small silencer type thing on the end of the dumptube to quiet it even further.

Does it sound like a tractor when the wastegate opens.I ran the car with no cat or catback for awhile and it sounded pretty awful.

This car is primarily a daily driving. Will I hate the external gate in everday driving.??

Some gates are louder than others but they're all pretty loud. If your really concerned about the noise, then have the dumptube rerouted back into your exhaust.

It sounds a lot better off the collector or o2 flapper hole on the turbine housing. They sound like crap off one runner IMO.
I have a HKS 40mm off the o2 with a ~9" flex tube dump. It sounds like someone ripping paper into a megaphone. Weird sound, that's the easiest way to describe it.

Yea, i have a tial external wg dumped into atmosphere, sounds really really loud, almost like a muscle car when it opens up- it scares people, and completely drowns out the sound of the turbo spoolin up. is there anyone out there that fabricates anything to route it back into the Downpipe? and if so, approx how much will it cost?
thanks

Mine doesn't open until around 13psi..its loud, but I like it and I daily drive my car. I'm using a 40mm Tial with AHP SS O2.

Any setup that reroutes into your downpipe will need to be custom. It cost me $60 to do it at a muffler shop.
