cone filter install question

I just installed a cone filter with MAS adapter on my 2G car. Is the filter just supposed to hang there and be supported by the intake pipe and BOV return dump tube? It seems kinda floppy. Do you need to install a hard intake pipe to take the floppiness out of it?

Mines just kinda hanging there, I've seen people ghetto rig like a bracket on it or somehing

Here's a link to read (and it includes other links to pics of homemade brackets, including mine ). I've kept my bracket on even after installing a hard intake pipe-- you can never be too secure...
