Both using the same compression. I know the 2g pistons have been expanded to the max and then they have a "sleve" type thing in them to keep them from contracting. Do Ross pistons have a similar feature? Or is that the reason people with forged pistons complain about piston slap? This car is going to be my daily driver. The reason I ask is it's actually cheaper for me to get the ross pistons/rings that are designed for a 1g, than 2g pistons and rings that are machined to fit 1g.
 
You will find its even cheaper to go with Weiscos than Ross. You can find Eagle/Weisco combos for 700 bucks or less. Piston slap is directly related to the machining process and piston to wall clearance after that then piston expansion comes into play. HighPsi91 has Weiscos machined just so on his car and they sound great. Mine are a little rough sometimes when it gets really cold or the car hasn’t started in a while. But piston slap isn’t always THAT bad as long as the cylinder wall wear is kept in check your rings will last just fine. I am partial to 95 pistons but with the price of Weisco pistons it’s just not worth the machining costs to make the factory pistons work.
