Have a stock 2g AWD talon right now. I am planning on doing some mods(turbo 16g, cams, ic, pipes) and was looking at the exhaust cutouts.

Was wondering what everyone's experiences are? if you have not had first hand experiences please do not tell me they are crap or tell me they give you 40+ horse. If you have one please give some details (size, make, cost)

thanks for the input

i currently have a 2.5" cutout i had put on my car at a local muffler shop. Its not electric but it still does the job. At idle my car sounds almost like a harley and all my v-8 friends were impressed when i revved at them it was sooo loud. When racing and in the upper rpm's, it sounds like a full on race car and my car is completely stock. I had mine installed for only $83. Of course i have to put it on and off manually but i dont mind. I currently have it capped because my gf doesnt like it loud when she's with me in the car. As far as performance goes, im not too sure, although for some reason my gas milage seems to have dropped considerably. It might be just a failing 02 sensor but still... If you want to save you some money then i would suggest a manual cutout, but if you already have the money set aside then definatly go with an electric. However DO NOT buy one you can open and close with a chord/string or the such. You can never fully close them and are a waste of money. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions just ask away.

thanks stuffy....yea i got the money for the remote opener...the only thing i am worried about is the fit. I have heard some stories about some of them not closing all the way. I have also heard that there will be more creep. How much will it creep and what damage will it do, if any???

i dont have a boost guage so i cant say how much creep i have. But i dont FEEL any ill effects due to the cutout. If you get a QTEC you will not have any problems with sealing. I have heard only good things from it. Good luck and ask anymore questions you have
