A while ago i wanted to install the 1G intake manifold and have my 2G head port matched for $80 but some people said over at the talk it wasn't a good idea. Well i found on cheap now and i'm thinking about doing it again. Has anyone here done it and recommend it. Any opinions. Thanks.

AFAIK those parts do not fit together.

if you want a 1G intake manifold you'll need a 1G head also, but theres really no point to doing a 1G head swap since you'll loose some low end power that the 2G head/intake manifold create and if still have a T25 WTF is the point buy a turbo instead. if anything just find a 1G throttle body and swap that on and call it good.

No point in bothering until you ditch the stock turbo. If you can get the 2G head port matched to the 1G intake then it would be worth it later on. It's a drag mod though. Compared to a 2G manifold it's going to help a lot in the 6000+ rpm range, maybe a little lower. It's a drag mod.

I should be getting my 14B i a couple days. The guy that does the porting for Forced Performance does the "2G head porting to match 1G manifold" for $80 not a bad deal.

Alright...... I never used to think a 2g head could flow well, till recently when my car mysteriously ran a 119 trap. This was with a 2g Intake Manifold (unported) and a 2g head with webcams.

If a 2g head is good for 119 traps...... I don't think your going to have a problem with a 2g head on a 14b. Honestly I think it would be a waste of time and or money.

Do I plan on doing a 1g head swap? Yes... because I know at this point the head is going to be holding me back a bit (as is the MAS). But I wouldn't bother with a 1g head swap on a 14b or 16g for that matter. Take the money you planned on spending on the head and the 14b, put it into a bigger turbo, and you'll get more "bang for your buck."

Did you not read the guy's entire post or are you just dense? We know you're not putting a 1G head on.

Did you not read the guy's entire post or were you just dropped on the head once to many times when you were a baby.

The gentleman said, "Take the money you planned on spending on the head and the 14b". That sounds to me that he thought i wanted a 1G head.

If you wanna help, go ahead. If you want to make dumbass remarks to get on people nerves take it to the "other" forum.

Peace.

I will gladly accept all unwanted unported 2G heads.

Really though, I dont think the 1G manifold is worth the effort. In my opinion just going to a bigger throttle body on a 2G mani is the best way to gain some power. But with only a 14b, none of these things are going to matter too much. In fact with such a small turbo the 2G mani will likely make better power.

Alright, becasuse there seems to be a case of people taking things to literally.....

save your money on the port work for the 2g head, labor to remove it, head gasket and other crap you'll need to do the job... instead spend the money on a bigger turbo?

Okay??!?!

If you are still wanting to put a 1g intake mani on a car with a T25 or 14b..... I have a 1g manifold for sale.
