3" Cat-Back Apexi N1 Exhaust

I was wonderin if it was possible to attach a 3" cat-back apexi N1 system to a 97 Eclipse GS. If i replaced the cat-converter to 3" and just had an adapter for the downpipe wouldnt that would so I could have a larger exhaust pipe?
If anyone out there knows if it possible just post, or if someone's done that before how did u do it. I know this isnt the right forum but the people in the non-turbo section dont talk much. Thanks

Are you putting on a turbo kit? If not don't go bigger than 2.5". Going to 3" will KILL all low end torque. Car won't even be fun to drive anymore.

When I attached my 3" N-1 to my car, I later went back and got a 3" DP from Extreme Turbo and a 3" cat from Extreme Motorsports. Once the Apexi neckdown joint is removed I had to have the cat custom fit using a test pipe cut in half to make up for the loss.

But, anyway, like was already posted you should probably stick to the N-1 that is designed for the GS and not use the GS-T's unless your going to forced induction.

On the apexi turbo back does it still neck down?

It has a section that bolts on which necks down. When you get the N1 downpipe you unbolt the neck section and it is a true 3" (after the flex).

(N1 for turbo aplications referencing talonracer's ?)It necks down in 2 locations. 1st the adapter, so it fits the stock cat(can be removed). 2nd it necks inside the can itself. For some reason, inside the can(right before it exits out the tip, they've installed a pipe that necks down to 2.5(at the most). The silencer slides inside of this(plus the tip). This necked down piece can not be removed. Not a true 3in exhaust. Very nice quality though.
