if i upgraded my bov to the 1g would it make the pshhhht sound when i rev the engine? correct me if im wrong but the stock one only makes the sound when im driving

I am a little bit confused by what you are asking...it wont go "PSSSSS" when you rev, but when you rev and lift off the throttle as any BOV is supposed to...Now I am not super familiar with the 2G BOV set-up, but I do know that the 2G guys swap out for a 1G or similar BOV...If your curent BOV is making that sound as you drive is prolly leaking Bro...

The BOV should only make the sound when the throttle plate is close suddently ie between shifts...so I think you have a problem mang...

Upgrade it and get a whole boat load more performance outta your BOV...

Hope that helps you out a lil man...

EDIT: Hang on, why do you have a BOV??

im sorry i never changed my profile... i sold my n/t for a stock tsi.. so i have the stock bov... i kno if you buy an aftermarket bov you can make the pshhht sound just by reving it so i was wondering if the 1g bov did the same thing

do you know if it is any louder than the stock 2g bov? is it worth doing if i dont change the boost level?

if a stock car runs like 10-12 psi and the stock 2g bov leaks at 9 wouldnt you get more performance by changing it even at stock boost levels?

Your questions really need to be in the General Newbie area. So, please try to keep the newbie questions to a minimal in this section.

Noise from a blow off valve is a by-product of it doing what it's supposed to.

If you want to upgrade to a 1G for extra power and performance then yes, it is also a little louder, but doens't make much noise when revving at idle.

A Greddy Type-S is better then a 1G and makes noise at idle as well. If you can handle the noise it makes then go for it. It's noise and drives me nuts personally.

Any bov change will need you to swap out your upper intercooler pipe to some type of aftermarket unit. If your going to go through all that, just get the Greddy Type-S. It will sound how you want, and you will get extra performance from it. Yes it also makes noise when you rev and let off at idle.

Your stock 2g BOV should not leak at 9 psi, it's more around the levels you were talking about, 12-13 psi. I doubt you should expect to see any power gains from either the 1g BOV or the 5x more expensive Greddy...
