soon to buy a 2.5" cat back and these are the 3 that I am choosing from. Which of these offer the quietest tone? Basically it seems like it boils down to what mufflers they come with? I mean, piping is piping as long as its madrel bent isnt it?

Ive read few reviews for the RNR, but I havent seen a single review for the AHP or DSS... is there a reason for that? OMG Ive read a review for AHP but it was regarding their slow shipping and not the performance.

the rnr without a cat is anything but quiet. Its loud enough to be annoying when driving on the freeway. Someday Im going to put a resonator to quiet it up.

Quietest is the R S R system.

Best exhaust for the money Bosal.. 3" ss under $300.

what muffler options are there for the rnr system? I see the SS bullet muffler as "optional", but im wondering what muffler it comes with "standard"

i think that the "Standard" muffler that comes with it is some sort of oval muffler from what i hear. I have been thinking about going with a RNR exhaust, im just a little worried about how long it will take. RNR Racing should come on here and post some Info:thumb:

I have the RNR 3" full system with the bullet muffler & high flow cat. It is right at my personal decibel limit. I do like it the way it is. Although, any louder, it would be too loud.

We are in the process of moving into a new shop so stuff in the near future will actually be in stock and NOT made to order like it has always been.

We are also debating selling only SS systems for the DSM. So you will get a SS exhasut at the price of an aluminized system. This will be great for you guys who want a really nice product at a lower than normal price.

we sell a couple mufflers

SS Round Bullet
SS Oval Bullet

SS Round Magnaflow
SS Oval Magnaflow

HKS Carbon/TI Muffler

We are no longer selling any standard mufflers so we need to remove that item from the site. Also we can make our exhaust systems very quiet if you are interested. Just shoot us an email and we cna give you a quote on a super quiet system that still performs great.

My experience w/ RNR-
I ordered a 2.5" O2 Eliminator turbo-back system from RNR about 6 months ago. Everything looked pretty good coming out of the box - the DP, exhaust tubing, muffler, and hangars looked nice & the flanges all fit well.
I ordered a simple 3" tip on my oval Bullet muffler, but got the polished 4" tip instead. When I requested $40 back to cover what it cost me to have the tip chopped off, have a new one welded on, and live with a muffler with ugly chopped off welds on it, Ryan initially acted like he was going to work with me. Then, for some reason, he stopped answering my emails. When I asked (for the 5th time) about my refund, he got completely pissy & refused to refund any $.
I chose RNR because their prices were good, their products looked pretty good, and of generally positive feedback on this site.
I would not buy from them again - it took 7 weeks for my turbo-back to ship (they kept telling me it would ship at 3 weeks, then 5 weeks...), they put the wrong tip on my muffler, then refused to make good on their screw up. Two hangars on the back of the muffler & aft piping were misplaced, and had to be cut off so new ones could be welded on. The straight middle section of tubing had to be bent a bit to keep it from rattling on the underside of the car
Also, keep in mind - if you want to be able to disconnect your downpipe from the rest of the exhaust, you'll have to pay to have bolt-up flanges welded on the downpipe & cat.
All-in-all, it cost me $100 at my local shop to have my RNR exhaust system installed (with the bolt-up flanges) correctly. My experience with RNR was not a fun one. They have the potential to be a good shop, but they need to get their act together first.

I had a great experience with RnR buying my 2.5" turbo back. The only complaints I had was the price of the catalytic converter (stupid emissions) and some fitment issues but they weren't anything that couldn't be fixed with a hammer and a pair of vice-grips. It looks like they just sent me a regular cat that I could have bought for 30 bucks on ebay and made everything slip fit to it and charged me 100. I don't know if this is exactly the case, but that's what it looks like. I really wish they would include a test pipe when you order the cat as well so you can replace it once you pass emissions, besides, you are paying all that extra money. As far as fitment, some of my hangars on the muffler were off and had to be bent to fit.

I chose to not get a tip put on because they were charging like 50 bucks at the time and the local shop charged me $28 to put a Magnaflow 4" tip on. When the exhaust had no tip it made the car rumble like you had a couple subs in the back that were on all the time. As soon as I put a tip on, it quieted up. I can hear it a little at 65mph, but it's not a droning roar by any means. The only time it gets a little loud is when you're at WOT.

I also have the full 3" turbo back with a high flow cat and SS bullet muffler. I'm a V8 sound lover (of my Z28 which is not quiet at all) and I also like the sound of the turbo, but I do not like the 4 cyl drone. The exhaust is not real loud for some, but the neighbors hear it too much. I am planning on some resonators in the spring and maybe a quieter muffler with the 2 2.5" tips. I want it to look stock and not too ricey. I also ordered a 3" tip and got the 4".
I also have a similar situation where the 02 bung was welded in the wrong position and I had AMS fix it (cost me $100 freakin bucks) and I'm waiting for a response from Ryan. He was very good answering my previous emails and I hope he makes good on this one. I will wait and see but time is ticking.

I bought an RNR 2.5" catback with a SS oval Bullet muffler. Not at all quiet. Sold it. I paid for a resonator, but Ryan didn't install one. He promised me a refund - that was 2 months ago. Now it's in credit card dispute. The fit was excellent however. Ryan promised me a "quiet" exhaust. The sound was incredibly aggressive - the house rumbled with the car idling in the garage. I cannot imagine how loud a "standard" RNR catback must be.

I guess your opinion and my opinion on quiet exhaust is much different. I personally believe the 3" system with a Magnaflow isn't that loud at all.

Email because I thought for sure I already credited the $50 back. Let me know so I cna take care of it.

Ryan,
Did you get my email a while back about the o2 bung fix?

Thanks
