I just wanted to see if anyone has used/ is using the front mount intercooler from AHP, or Anderson High Performance. They have a special right now for a frontmount (spearco core) with all piping included for only $695!!!

Just was wondering how the intercoolers from this company were, and how their products are in general. Any help/opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

expect to wait months for it to arrive after u pay for it. Their pipe routing is long as heck. The core isn't that big. If you're running a smaller turbo i think you'll be ok, but seems a lil small for a bigger turbo. But i ordered a cat back from him once, i received it 6 months later. so take that for what its worth

Cool, thanks...anyone else have any bad/good experiences with AHP???

my first d/p came from there.. took for eff'n EVER to get here. He is bad about replying to emails... and picks up the phone rarely.
Quality was crap. in order for it to fit my exhaust i had to 'twist' the rest of the system to line the holes up. the flex ended up tearing after a year.
i went with RnR to replace it. Id go with one of our sponsers if i was you.
I keep saying it.... you get what you pay for.

i ordered a o2 housing from him in april. gave him my credit card # and he said it would be 2 weeks at the latest. guess what, 8 months later im sitting here with out my money or the o2 housing. he wont answer calls, wont answer emails.

im nearly done with my dsm, and the last thing i want now is the damn housing. think he'll ever give me a refund? i think not. when my beater is up to par im going for a little drive to the ahp shop. If you cant handle your customers, your customers will handle you.

bottom line is if you want to get something from ahp, youre better off just flushing the money down the toilet.

Wow, that bad huh?...Damn, I'm happy I asked you guys first before buying from AHP.

I've gone to RnR before also, but I've had a bad experience there. I bought a dp and it took 3 months to get to me, then it was the wrong setup...so I had to ship it all back and wait another month or so. The worst part is that he didn't even reimburse me for the shipping costs, when it was their fault. I don't know if I'm ready to wait 4 or more months for an intercooler.

Any opinions on where to get an intercooler setup (or which one) for my FP Big28???

Have not ordered a front mount intercooler but have dealt with AHP.
I ordered an exhaust, down-pipe and side mount intercooler from AHP. Chris Anderson was very knowledgeable and helped in the parts selection process. The parts when they were delivered were well constructed.
The completed order took 6 months to arrive after numerous phone calls.
All the welding appeared high quality though both the down-pipe and exhaust required rework with hacksaw and additional support bracketry to fit the car.
Side mount intercooler was approximately one third smaller in size than the standard 1G intercooler.
When I mentioned that the delivered intercooler dimensions were not those advertised on the web site I was told that the core was what was available at the time. I was also told to check the fine print on the web site regarding information being subject to change. I managed to return the intercooler so was only out the 6 month wait and the postage and handling charges.

I ordered a stage 2 fmic kit from AHP back in march 2004 and here it is end of august...no intercooler, no refund, no responses to phone calls, his shop number is disconnected, his cell phone voicemail box is full. Lemme know when ur goin up to WI, i'll tag along.

I have had good experiences with AHP. I bought a downpipe and testpipe from the company about 2 years ago. Though the service isn't top notch, and it took a bit of time to get here, it was worth the wait. the parts were cheap, and the quality was good. I had taken the tranny out numerous times, and even after moving the downpipe all over the place it was intact when i took it off my car recently to go 3". I was happy with the parts for the money, and if i had the time to wait, would do business with them again. RnR on the other hand I will never deal with. My dad ordered a 3" downpipe for his 1g fwd and had nothing but poor fitment issues. Others in my area have had bad fitment with rnr parts as well. On the upside, they refunded him half of his money for the bad fitment.

took 2.5 months to get a 2.25" UICP but when it came quality was good, nice powder coating, and a nice thick TB flange unlike the thin flanges from Dejon Tool. Got it on special for $120 so I cant complain too much.
