ok i called nopi.com and was about to order the apexi dp (witch eliminates the cat) to bolt on to my apexi n1 catback they told me it will not bolt on to my o2 housing they said its made to eliminate this. at price of $200 i doubt it is an o2 eliminator considering those cost well over $300. so what is the deal will this bolt onto my o2 sensor housing?

yes
but I would port out the O2 housing at the same time. If you didn't to that already.

LOL!

for the record..no apex downpipes are o2 eliminators. and it isn't a 3" neck either.. its smaller like 2.5", made to bolt on to the stock o2 housing without any problem. i have one and it bolts on fine... i never ported my o2 housing so i got creep - listen to these guys. i have a ported and dumped 2G o2 waiting to go on when i get the time.

Thank you for clarifying that.

It seems the a lot of down pipe have the 2.5 inch.
Connectors.

The downpipe NEVER goes to a FULL 3" on the Apexi downpipe. It's a 2.5" neck to the bend then a 2.9" pipe to a 2.5" flex to a 2.9" pipe eliminating the cat. I have one sitting beside me that was ment for my car but I won't touch it now that I've seen it. Going to go with a pacesetter...FULL 3" the WHOLE way and it's POLISHED stainless at basicly the same price. It's the only Apexi product I wont sell to any customers.

Interesting I never taken a caliper and measure the diameter.
Thanks for the info.

dyezak, is there anything special about the length of the pacesetter that would make you recommend that pipe to your customers who were looking at an N-1 dp to begin with? The whole thing about the N-1 DP is that not only does it get rid of the cat (if you're into that) it is also specifically made to bolt right up to an N-1 catback, so N-1 owners really don't have many options unless they go custom. People with any other exhaust probably wouldn't be looking at the N-1 DP anyways unless they were ready to take it to an exhaust shop to be hacked.

Personally, I'm running the N-1 dp for the time being just because i grabbed it used and got an awesome deal. But i'm getting ready to jump on another local deal, a used RRE short downpipe, all stainless, true 2.5" to 3" after the flex, and made to bolt up to any Apex (or RSR) exhaust with my choice of a test pipe or cat (cat of course for yearly inspection purposes only :D). This is probably the best option for owners of aforementioned catbacks and they also make a long DP that elminates the cat as well (again, if you're into that.. hehe)

If you are worried about a true 3in. DP and you're using an N1 exhaust, then you will never have a true 3in exhaust anyway. The N1 is NOT a true 3in exhaust anyway. Inside the can, it necks down to about 2.5(at the most) right befor the tip. I also took some pic.s of this.

Are you talking about the turbo N1 or the reg N1 cuz i heard the turbo is 3" and the NA is 2.5"........(so how small is the NA if the "3"" is only 2.5")

I am talking about the turbo N1. I have the N1 catback on mine(97GSX). The piping from the cat back to the can, entering the can and halfway through the can is 3in. Once it starts to exit the can(before the tip) they have installed another pipe that necks it down to about 2.5in. It doesn't make sence why they did it. It might have something to do with sound/the silencer. the silencer's end fit's perfectly into this necked down portion. I'll try to get the pic.s online tonight. I must say though.....great quality and amazing sound just not full 3in. I'd still give it a thumbs up

the RRE 2.5"-3" DP is make to fit the A'pexi exhaust too. I have one on my car... no complaints

How do you like the RRE DP? I think it's going to be my next purchase. It's always nice to hear from somebody else before you buy it. Did you notice some good gains? Did you buy the cat elim. DP or did you get the DP and high flow cat? Thanks
