First of all, let me say that I don't have DSMLink, or any kind of tuning programs, or dinos, so no I don't know of any official gains. But what I can tell you though is that the myth of losing performance with one of these on a T25 just isn't true. At least not for me. But let me list my mods.

- Thermal 3" Catback (3"downpipe, and cat later)
- Extreme Motorsports MBC
- Dejon Style Intake w/ Weapon R Hyper filter
- Apexi EL Mech. Boost Guage
- Greddy Type-S BOV
- Greddy 18" FMIC Kit (bought used for $300 in almost perfect condition)
- Greddy Upper/Lower IC pipe kit
- HKS Type-1 Turbo Timer

I was very unsure about doing this install before upgrading to a bigger turbo (which I'll be doing this spring EVO III 16G), but after installing it, and driving with it for the past week, the car is very strong, and it DEFINATELY halls ass in 4th gear on the highway. I am boosting at 15lbs, and I have NO BOOST LEAKS, which of course is very important. What I did was go to Extreme Motorsports and get all new silicon couplers of their name brand (man were they expensive for the hump, and reducer, but the regular ones were $4-5 a piece). Their couplers are so damn tight, your almost guaranteed no leaks, but they were a bi*** to put on. They look cool though (I got red).

Anyway, like I said, I am very pleased with the 18" FMIC, and it suits the T25 just fine, since it's not a very big intercoolers (About double the length, and slight wider than the stock sidemount).

The last thing I'm going to do is paint black this grill material I bought from Loews, and put it neatly in front of the intercooler, so I can have that new EVO-style intercooler grill look, and also have some protection against debris on the fins. Hopefully it turns out nice. If not, it looks good the way it is now. I'll try to get some pics of the setup in my gallery before the end of the week.

I would recommend a 190 fuel pump if your going to turn the boost up like that.

Just imagine your poor T2small turbo spinning that much harder to fill up the extra piping/IC.

eh, it spools super fast, I doubt it would have a problem filling the pipes at 2000 rpms, it's more air to blow off so maybe it might compression surge more often...?

The airs been blowing off fine, with no compresser surge, and thats with, or without having the air go to the bottom nipple of the Type-S BOV. But like I said though, I'm boosting 15lbs, so its easier for it to get rid of the excess air cause I'm a lead foot anyway, and I have the BOV working overtime, as well as my gas mileage. :D I just hope that the T25 lasts long enough for my turbo this spring. I drive my car fast and hard a lot, but I don't launch that much though.

One thing I have noticed is the little bit of preassure drop everyone talks about, but it doesn't affect performance. I've felt it mostly when I shift to say, 3rd gear and then cruise and take my foot off the pedal, and then give it gas, and then you feel a little bit of a jerk from the turbo spooling and filling the intercooler. But it is very minor, and who cares about preassure drop at cruise speeds anyway?

My car does the exact same thing. I'm currently using the Big GReddy fmic with my FP ported Big28.

Compressor surge
Sounds cool though.

check the plugs... i had the same problem ..it would jerk when i would hit the boost and that was it...

I know this thread is like HELLA old but i got something to say about the 18R Core....

For me right now, it SUCKS. Im trying to mount it up as per the instructions and it wont go on... seems that someone messed up on the bracket welds and now i cant even test mount the sucker. WTF!? maybe it was just mine or something but im so mad right now i wanna yell at someone.

A little bit of info... i got the core from Extreme PSI. When i got it, it already had the brackets welded to it. I dunno if it was Extreme who did that or greddy themselves messed up but now i dont know what the eff to do.

Wow, this IS an old thread. I wasn't even a member back then!

I doubt that Extremepsi does any kind of fabrication to Greddy products. Do you have any pics of the brackets? Maybe they forgot to mail you part of the "install kit", if there is one for that FMIC. You could always sell it and get a SSAC/XS intercooler is cost is an issue.

Okay i have to admit.... im a moron. I took all the pieces that came with the FMIC and found the two brackets that are necessary to mount the intercooler. Now i can mount it if i can get my hands to work in the tiny space behind the bracket to hold the nut in place.

Hold the nut on the bracket with some masking tape. As you tighten the bolt, it'll rip through the masking tape.

Greedy's foreign made products with little R and D for one dont perform much for how much they cost,
and two, dont fit or have the quality or fitment they should.
I have installed multiple so called "turbo kits" from them, and they absolutely suck.
Too much modifications, fitment issues, custom fab, and extra that you have to buy make anything from them absolutely not worth even researching.
