www.DSMlink.com says you'll need a laptop with a serial port (RS232 or DB9) running windows 98. The serial port isn't a problem because you can find USB to DB9 cables all over the internet. And I love windows 98, I'm still using it on my desktop in my apartment at school. What I'm wondering, and I only want to hear from people who are running DSMlink, is how much power does the laptop need? I'm trying to spend as little as possible on this. I hate laptops and it will only be used in the car to run dsmlink. Is 333 mhz enough? I can't remember what it is like to use a computer with that little power. Chime in with your low end laptop specs and your opinion on running dsmlink with it.
I'm putting my order in on Tues and once I become a member of their usergroup they can probably provide a lot of information on this topic. And I'll probably be borrowing a friends laptop for a little bit, but I could use your assistance now.
And I'm ordering a whole lot more than just dsmlink so don't bother telling me I don't need it.
Thanks,

I ran it briefly with 16MB RAM a while ago, and that was horribly slow. If I accidentally opened two copies of the app, the computer would sit for several minutes churning away.
