I have just called them about rebuilding my turbo...... and waiting for a call back.....

How do we feel about these guys? I have never dealt with them before.. Hows their work / Prices??? Just curious, i have seen them around the site...
 
No offense to anyone, but my experience with them wasn't good at all. I don't want to get into the whole story, but I don't think their customer service is good at all... Im sure there is someone who will vouch for them though, I know JDMAWD likes them
 
My experience has always been good with them. What turbo are you getting rebuilt?
 
I wasn't going to say anything, but their customer service os the worst I have ever seen. I have been waiting for a reply to my email for 3 months. They have a special address for us foreigners, but obviously don't seem to ever check it.

I have heard they are one of the best, they obviously think they are sooo good they don't need to bother.

Try someone else, I have.
 
i have a 14B with a 16G Flywheel........ i got it for 50 bucks... it looks good... it needs new bearings, has a little shaft play........

they just called me back and told me $250/ + more $ if it takes awhile / + more $ for any extra parts.... seems like alot to me... i can get a full rebuild kit for $125. i have never worked on a turbo, i guess i might be doing my first one if i cant get a good price on someone doing it for me...
 
Call up Forced Performance and ask about their 14b/18G turbo rebuild. It will be worth your time, trust me.
 
my experience with extreme-turbo/dsm-performance has been great. i would try giving them a call in addition to you're e-mail's.
 
I sent in my 14B and had it turned into a "Puppy" They installed a Garrett compressor wheel. It took a couple of weeks to get it done and back in my hands. I know that they just moved the turbo shop to South Carolina so they have been screwed up here for the last couple of weeks.

They do excellent work and would recommend them. They only thing is that if you are in hurry I might think about another place. Like I said they work was GREAT, but it did take a couple of weeks.
 
I had to have mine rebuilt there. Just dont deal with them. I padi nuttin cus it was under their warranty and they frogot to ship it for a week. My mech said i blew the seals were broke and they said nuttin was wrong with it. Prob cus Mach V told them to say that cuz it fugged my car. I payed nuttin but i had to deal with them just dont if u dont have to

every shop i do business with i use email in combination with the phone. every email i have ever sent has been returned in a timely fashion, with the information i requested or instructions on how to obtain the products or services considered. if you cant return a FREAKING email to make you're business money, YOU don't deserve my business. it does not matter if it was a mustang shop, or dsm shop. my email's have always been returned.

Oohhh, you beat me to it!!! Before I even got to this I had already cut and pasted his remark and was going to search for that topic as well! Looks like someone just shot themselves in the foot.

Jaybone: I don't recall the pricing, give them a call and see what a rebuild will cost and ask about the 18G upgrade as well. For reference, your turbo is a 14B with a 16G COMPRESSOR wheel , not a flywheel.
 
AN average rebuild will cost around $300. That is what I would plan on.. not the $250. That is if all the parts are still good. When I sent mine in the center section was toast so I had to pay for another one.
 
ok so i am guessing that this 14B wont mount up to my exhaust manifold... and i need a 1G exhaust manifold.... am i correct? what else will i need to bolt this thing up?

and i think im going to go with the 18G upgrade. i might as well if im gettin it rebuilt anyways....
How much power difference is the 18G over the 16G??

A 14B will bolt to a 2G exhaust manifold. You could almost rebiuld the turbo yourself, but to have it last any sort of time you need to have ti balanced. Unless you have a balancer then you can not do it.

It doesn't make up for 3 months at all. I just thought in the interests of fairness I should update what I said.

Also, It is not as easy as you would think having stuff shipped to Europe. I am in a position where I have to deal with some companies, simply because they will ship to me. As soon as you mention "International Shipping" you would be surprised how quickly people stop returning you emails.
