Overbored throttle body

I'm interested in getting one of these for my 1g. They bore it out from 60mm to 64mm. So far I've seen 2 places offer these, Extreme and Road Race. They are about $260. Is it gonna be worth it, or not that noticable of an improvment. Any imput would be appreciated, thanks.

if the intake manifold inlet is the same size as the throttle body ( 64mm ) then it should give you some top end. If the size is the stock 60mm you won't see any gains.

You can always port open your stock manifold opening with RRE's 1G->2G throttle body swap info. Then you can get the over bored TB and it's all good

IMO thats pretty expensive for a TB thats overbored. THe TB costs about $50 used and boring is $140 from most machine shops. It would be even cheaper if you were not buying a used TB too.

My plan is to do an aftermarket intake manifold along with it. I think I might try this mod, I'm fairly confident that it will have good results.

What do you use for a 64mm butterfly? Or does the $140 or so include assembly and parts, butterfly etc.

Just remember as with having to portmatch the intake manifold to the throttle body, you also have to portmatch the runners on the head with the intake manfold if it's an aftermarket intake manifold. I am in the process of doing this as I am swapping a 1g i/m to a 2g head.
