I am going to be running a Big T28 Killer turbo and was wondering what you guys thought of the Hahn or Dejontool side mounts? They are supposed to be able to hold from 400-450 hp. Are they good for that? I am looking at them for the ease of install and price. Thanks!

I have the hahn big sidemount. Fit perfectly, and it is real big compared to stock. So far no problems. The only thing is, are you going to want a fmic in the future... cause I might... and you just end up buying intercoolers and pipes twice.

easy to install, just 2 bolts on it, only problem is its wider than stock, so it sits right up agains the back of the splash guard, meaning less air flow through it until you can cut away the spash guard and put in somekind of bigger vent, or mesh.

Anyone else? I am really stuck on the intercooler situation. Hell I am stuck on everything. Going from all motor V8 to turbo is really different. I have recently put a trnasmission cooler on and mounted it on the radiator, will a front mount still install on there? I was really lookin to be a sleeper, that's why I wanted the side mount but everyone recomends the front. Which is a good one for the money? If I am getting the front mount should I even worry about upgrading the UICP? Thanks guys.

The Supra Sidemount which I have picked up supported a Supra to 680 WHP...so i thinka sidemount rating totally depends on the I/C itself...

right... and i was talking about the hahn sidemount that I have...

From http://www.hahnracecraft.com/hahn/upgrades/twogen.htm

"By now, the stock intercooler is being pushed well beyond its intended airflow, which leads to an excessively hot intake charge to the engine. We offer both Side Mount and Front Mount Intercooler Upgrades to correct this. Which is right for you? If you do not expect to exceed 400 HP, the Side Mount is optimal, and it's economical and easy to install too. If you plan to exceed 400 HP, or do not mind the additional expense, the Front Mount is for you. Still confused? Discuss it with us: we can help you make the right choice. "

People need to stop thinking of it as a supporting mod all the time and remember it adds hp in its own right....

If a fmic add's 35 hp instead of a smic's 15....and it will progressively add more, as the smaller is becomes less and less effective....welll...

I like fmic's....these aren't fuel injectors, bigger ones ADD more power, not just support it.
