I installed a 1g throttle body on my 2g a while back, but now I have to pull the head off to change the head gasket and I want to put in arp head studs. I have a 1g intake manifold sitting in my garage, but I realize the runners on the head are much smaller than those on the manifold, which is why I never installed it in the first place. Now since the head will be off anyway ... can I take a die grinder or dremel and portmatch the runners on the manifold with the head? I just want to have them kind of funnel from big to small on the head so where the gasket sits the intake manfold runners and head runners are the same size, but they get smaller once you go farther into the head. Is this safe to do? I figure I might not gain a lot of power, but it definitly won't hurt right? Since I'm not going to completely port the runners there won't be uneven airflow right? Thanks.
