Thinking of installing an oil cooler. Does anyone use one. If so where did you get it from. I don't think it should hurt but do you really need it. I know it's not a must have or you'll burn up your engine but do they really make the engines run that much cooler? I guess what I'm asking is it worth the money or should I just save for a better radiator instead.

All of our cars came with oil coolers. You already have one. It's a water-to-oil cooler. It runs coolant through it to cool off the oil.

Its the thick sandwich thing at the base of the oil filter.

I would say that an aftermarket air to oil cooler if not expensive by your standards would be worth it. Cooler oil just works better. I would (personally) look at trying to run both the air-oil and water-oil coolers in tandem. Just to make sure it's as cool as possible.
