wastegate not connected.......quick answer?

Now lets just say for instance that girard mitsubishi didn't connected my wastegate, so it never opened. and they drove it for a while. then did, took the highway home, got home and knew there was no boost. got out and fixed it, burned my hand but fixed it, they never put the pin in. could any damage be caused. If someone could answer quickly for me that would be great. thank you.

Actually if it was not connected it would never close.

JDM is exactly right, it would never close therefore you wouldn't be able to build any boost...well maybe 1 or 2 psi.

If you weren't building boost, then why would something be broken?
