Is Thermal 3" A True 3"?

Is a Thermal cat back exhaust a TRUE 3" exhaust and are there any resonators? Currently I have a Apexi Dunk 3", but it seems to neck down and it has the resonator. Will I see a difference between the two at around a 400hp level?

Well, a Thermal is a true 3" exhaust after cutting the section that necks down. After that, wedling a 3" peice with the same size flange shouldn't be an issue. Other than that, you can't get better than that without for a mass produced exhaust.

what part necks down? I have the thermal on my 97 gsx and it's 3" all the way.

I have a full 3'' from the turbo back I weld a new flange on the reducer part to get a real 3''.

It necks down to bolt up to the stock cat.

Had a 3" thermal on mine and it was true 3. it was 2.5 at the DP flange in order to mate witht the O2 housing.

I also cut off the neck down at the stock cat. Other than neckdown, it is a true 3". No resonators either. I have seen several other exhausts and the thermal seems to be the straightest flowing and least restrictive of any other exhausts I have seen.
