Putting a 2g head on a 1g 6 bolt

I have tried to search for this, but i couldn't find anything to help me out.

I want to build a 2g head for my car right now, but i am going to be putting a 6 bolt bottom end in the car in about a year. Now what do you have to do to put a 2g head on the 6 bolt bottom end. I heard something about you having to enlarge the head stud holes on the head. Anybody know what you have to do?

Yeah the 1g head studs are 1mm larger than the 2g so yeah they would have to be enlarged. Either a machine shop or a drill can do the job.

thats what i had to do to mine, i have a 6bolt bottom end with a 2G head. Just have a machine shop drill the holes in the head 1mm bigger its only like 20 bucks.

you should probably reconsider using the 2g head. Build a 1g head and wait for the 6bolt because the 1g heads outflow 2g heads by a lot. Ever take a look at the difference in port sizes?

2G Head has better cooling passages. A fully ported 2g head will flow better than 1G unported. Up to you, but I would stick with a 1G head. No fabbing or ghetto rigging needed...

actually, to go back on my point, there'd be less ghetto rigging and fabbing with the 2g head since there'd be no CAS wiring splicing and MAP adaptation depending on the intake manifold you choose. And if you want flow, port the 1g head too.

Yeah the 2G head seems to be to "flow better" in terms of characteristics, but I am not the one to explain why.
