I need to take the fitting on the top off since I am running full -6an lines and have sold the stock rubber line. I have tried a torch on it also.

I used Vise Grips I believe. It took a LOT of effort. You will want to use 2 of them IIRC. One on fitting to the tank to hold it in place, and one on the fuel line side of the fitting. That, and the lower fuel filter fitting both seem to get very stuck over time.

I would probablly recommend against using a torch near your fuel lines.

haha, especially if the tank is empty. Fumes are bad!

The whole assembly is out of the car, has been for months. Theres no fuel left in it (the pump is removed also).

Any other ideas? I need to thread the -6AN hose onto it, so this stock line needs to come off.

You can always cut it and reflare the end with a new fitting, but that can get messy if the tubing is old and brittle.

You aren't an avid fan of life, are ya? But I understand, the pump was a bit of a pita for me too. But I think vise grips made it happen for me.

Put two flare wrenches on and squeeze the wrenches in a vice. It will come off.

Make sure you know which way is to loosen it first.

I got it off, I stuck the big end (part of the rubber line) in a vise. Then I stuck a vise grips on teh smaller fitting and a metal pipe over the vise grips and I got it to come loose.:)

Do you know the thread size of the fitting?
