how much PSI on stock engine with evo 16g

i got a evo III 16g

its not on but will be within a couple of weeks

i have walbro 255
evo o2 hosuing ported
evo manifold ported
evo III 16g clipped/ported

plan on getting either 550 or 660s injectors and a safc

how much boost can i safely run on the engine being stock?
with 92 octane or race fuel
 
Not a whole lot more than stock boost.

Maybe 15 or 16 psi, but you need to log it to find out. None of us can tell you.
 
Well first of all go with 660s, you'll get alot more room to play with. Second of all, like nine4raptor says, log it. 3rd, if you have followed the upgrade path to a T, you SHOULD be able to boost at 18 psi, but some of us has gone as high as 20-21
 
First off i dont know whta ^^ is talking about. Do not run 18psi on that setup! without injectors and a afc and some way to log the car.

stay around 15-16psi on stock fuel with the 255pump. Also you did not post exhuast side or intake side mods? do you have any and if so what are they. Without full exhuast i would stay below 15psi.

You possibly can run 20psi after injectors and afc and somthing to log. IM running 20psi on myset up. I logged it and put it on the wideband (dyno) and personaly im not confortable running more than 20psi on pump gas. and 18+ will need a different intercooler either a fmic or suprasidemount or somthing to that affect.

Also with the evo o2 housing you probably will need to modifly your downpipe to fit it, and a stock one will not bolt to it, or at least i dont think it will. I have one on my car and i had to get my downpipe modifed to fit it. Flange was cut off the old downpipe and had to be welded back on at a different angle.

Good luck, should make the car a tad bit faster.

Well if you were paying attention. you would have seen that he will be getting larger injectors, and a safc. I only told him what he (SHOULD) be able to run if he follows the upgrade path. So perhaps you should read a whole post BEFORE you allow yourself to speak without 5 pounds of **** hanging out of your mouth.:thumb:

please tell me were you put "after you have the injectors?" i just dont see it but your right maybe i missed it with the shit hanging from my mouth as you put it. Just point it out were YOU said "you can run that after injectors" or somthing close to that.


Because if he has to ask what boost he can run, you might want to be a little bit more clear, since his question was more towards stock injectors, or right now before he gets the 550s or 660's. At least thats the way i took it. So i will remove the 5lbs of s h i t from my mouth and go back to my noob self. And dont be an ass i didnt say anythign about you i just said i dont know what ^^^ is talking about but here is more info.. did i say you were dumb? or have crap in your mouth no. All you had to say was i ment with injectors run that much boost. But no you had to post your wise ass comment.

Well, I was under the impression that you thought I was just trying to set this guy up for failure or something which I wasn't. That's why I mentioned for him to follow the upgrade path to a T and he should be just fine. Maybe I should have worded it differently:)

All in all, my mistake.

I have basically a stock car w/ a 16G. I don't have a fuel pump at all, so my base PSI is around 13 or so, and that's where I keep that.

With race gas (116 leaded), I have run 20 PSI on this setup w/o knocking.
