Finally getting rid to store the GSX for winter and rip it apart and take care of all the mods :D I'm in the market for a 3" 02 Eliminator Downpipe, i've heard RnR's makes a good flowing unit but I have heard of clearance issues with these. So who's got the best fitment and flow? BTW, is there anything else I should get or I should know when installing the downpipe?

I have the RNR o2 eliminator downpipe on my 97 GSX and I have no clearance issues. I thought it would prevent me from using the larger oil filter, but I was wrong.

I even had it hooked to my t25 before I upgraded, no problems. It is a bi*** to install, but I have had no problems.

yea they are a bi*** to install ... I don't really like mine. Everytime you need to take it off I spend an hour getting the bolts off holding it to the turbo.... ( that bottom one will be hard as hell to reach )

I have the 3" RnR O2-eliminator downpipe. Fitment and construction are great, but like any O2-eliminator, it's a pain in the ass to get on and off. My solution so far has been to pull the driver's-side radiator fan to allow a little more room to work in (most jobs I've needed the downpipe out of the way for, all I've really needed to do is bend it out of the way, rather than remove the whole thing; with the fan gone, it's easy to slip all the way down without hanging up on something), and then I drop the turbo a bit to make getting at that rear bolt easier.

I went with the shorter 3000GT VR4 oil filter for a little better clearance there, but it looks as though a regular filter would fit just fine too.

Overall, I love it, but I still find myself wishing I'd bought a two-piece setup instead, just to make pulling the downpipe easier (it's damn near impossible to get the transfer case down with a downpipe that large in the way, although I did it...once).

RnR has my 2 :thumb:. Excellent quality and service. Havent had any fitment problems. Just like the above post, its a PITA to take off then back on. Thats the only problem.

I made my own O2 eliminator DP, what I did was just behind the oil pan as close to the motor as I could get it I put in a V-Band clamp so you can remove the turbo assembly with that small piece of down pipe attached and not worry about taking it off. You can also just un clamp the V-Band for open exahust at the track.

Worked like a charm. V-Band is so easy to take appart, one screw and they seal very well and don't leak. It takes me about 30 mintues to remove my entire turbo setup inclusing manifold down pipe, wastegate intake pipe etc etc..
