my friend has an evo 8, he recently upgraded his fuel pump, and said that his stock fuel pump would be better than my stock one. Anyone know if it would bolt up and if pumps at a higher rate than a 2g turbo

ya it should definantly be a upgrade, check buschur racing.coms results with there evo 8 mods, i think they got over 300 hp and 12s on that stock fuel pump, i may be wrong but check it out

I sorta doubt it. But I do not know for a fact.

Soo here is what I would do. Get the pump from him (if for nothing else you can sell it) and compair it to yours. If it looks like it will bolt up to your gas take cover then your good to go. And dont be afraid if it's close but not perfect im sure it could easily be made to work if that was the case.

If it is a Denso pump, which it probably is, it should bolt right up. I'm curious to know how many LPH it flows at what voltage. I have a Toyota Supra fuel pump in my car, which is made by Denso, and looks identical to the stock DSM fuel pump.

Does the EVO actually manage 14.3 volts to the pump, or is it like the DSM which only manages 12 volts or less at the pump unless you do a rewire?

I have the old RRE Denso upgrade pump sitting here which is a 150 LPH pump also. I forgot what voltage it is rated at 150 though. Probably the same 14.3 volts.

Has anyone attempted to install an Evo 8 fuel pump in a 1G. Buddy of mine wants to pawn it to me for 50 bucks. Barely used. Pumps out a lot more fuel than my stock one too. Just wanted to know if it was possible, or what needs to be done. Searched briefly but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Thanks for your input. I had already checked that out @ Road Race. And well, i'm definitely on a tight budget and i don't plan on upgrading the turbo anytime soon. So an extra 60 lph or so would be sufficient. And i know rewiring the stock one would be sufficient too but just curious about the evo VIII fuel pump. Thanks again. Anyone else?

Anyone know if the Evo 8 fuel pump will easily install into a 2g? This pump is rated at only 10 lt/hr less than a a Walbro 190 lph. Seems like it would be good for people running 16gs and looking for a cheap fuel pump upgrade...

$25 shipped for an Evo8 fuel pump :p. But I agree with you guys that I should just go with the ones meant for our cars.

I don't really want to run a 255 lph without a afpr. I have 560cc injectors, and will probably be going with the 190 lph on my Evo 3 16g.

Anyone know how or anyone already install an Evo 8 stock fuel pump into a 1g (turbo of course) Buddy of mine is offering it too me for 50 bucks. Want to do it but don't know if it will fit, wire up, etc. easily without hassle. Gimme some feedback! :talon: 93 Talon TSi FWD - Stage 1 Complete except for fuel pump! :talon:

should work fine there are only two wires as far as i know:power and ground. dont see why it would be a problem. and try to get him to sell it cheaper

do the rewire kit at the same time... they flow as much as a 190 walbro i believe... and you can get them dirt cheap on ebay/ or from evo sites

Haven't found any info on these. Are they comparable to the Walbro 190 or 255?

Thanks!

They look quite comparable to walbro 190 but not as good as 255 but dont' think need a reg and should be quiet as stock ones. I just want to know best place to buy an evo pump.Assume use evo 8 pump and assume its a drop in.

it does work, and the people I've talked to say it does overrun your stock fuel pressure regulator if you rewire it, but does not if you don't. its a little larger than the 190. I just went with a twin turbo 3kgt fuel pump which is apparently a tiny bit smaller than a 190. 40 bucks shipped off 3si.org.
