I have a 96 Talon TSI (FWD) and I am replacing motor and have a few parts from a 1st gen in my garage also. I wanted know if the throttle bodies are the same set up with their sensors and vacumm lines? Because the opening is way bigger on the 1st gen and i'm connecting it to the 1st gen intake mani. Also should I use the 1st gen or 2nd gen throttle body elbow?

Not sure about the elbow. But if you get your EGR blocked off I dont think you even use any of the vac lines on the throttle body. Might have a CEL after a week of the EGR block though 2g's are picky about there shit..

hell my 1G (stupid DBI or whatever) I can disconect my O2 sensor and the computers just like "ahh I dont need that anyway" I sware I can not make that CEL come on. Trust me I have tried LOL.. if it ever does it will probly be for something stupid or something REALY bad. sooo i'll be all "ahhh #### me"

He's right, you won't need any of those vac. lines, just cap em off after you block your EGR, and you will want to use the 2g TB elbow rather than the 1g. The 2g flows a little better. The two Tb's should hook up the same othewise.

Depending on what computer your using. If you using your 2G computer then you will need the 2G TPS, which means you will have to re-adjust your TPS. The 1G uses a 3prong and we use 4 so you will need to move that over. I would also recommend moving over the FIAV from the bottom of the throttle body (the thing with the electrical plug in and the coolant lines) as this controls your warm up and it's likely that the 1G part is much older and could either be broken now or close to it.

The vacume lines it upto you. If you keep your EGR system then you wil have to use the vac lines you just hook them up a little differently, if you dump the EGR and all the related parts then you won't use any of those vac lines at all. You will end up with only your BOV and Boost Controller, FPR, Boost gauge and a big ass line going to your brake booster.

Check out RRE's site it helped me a lot.
