Do I need a FPR with a Walbro 190

I just bought a Walbro 190 fuel pump. I was wondering if I need a fpr or not. I am using the stock injectors for now, and I was going to rewire the pump at the same time. I am not sure if I should rewire it because I've heard it can raise the fuel pressure. Sorry I am such a noobe when it comes to fuel mods. Also I don't have a safc or a translator yet.

I wouldn't think it would be a necessity. For safety, maybe, but I think you should be fine. After you get some type of controller for your fuel flow you'll be golden.

i had my walbro 190 installed about 2 months ago and didnt seem to have a problem.im running a little richer but not much.i believe you only need a fpr when ur running something like a walbro 255hp or something,but for a 190 its not neccesary.im with mjd gst,as soon as u get urself a fuel controller my choice would be the apexi s-afc and u wil be set.but for now have ur fuel pump installed and dont worry about a fpr,just my 2 cents!later!

A few extra psi of fuel pressure will not hurt you. You just need to tune for it thats all. 20 extra psi of base fuel pressure could be a problem though...

I've put 255's on a couple 1G's and they all ran fine.

Everyone said they would run a little rich so I cut the MAF's up on some of them, but they've worked great either way.

Thanks for all the info. It looks like I'll be fine for now, but what about rewireing it. Everyone says its a good idea, so should I do that at the same time. I don't think it would raise the pressure that much. I thought the only reason to rewire it, is so under full throttle you won't loose any power through the stock shity wires.
