Ok I dont know what to do i just joined DSM tuners and My eclipse has been in the shop. I swapped the motor with a 1g which is now in my 96 Eclipse. And now we have spark fuel and oil pressure pretty much every thing we need. So it turns over like its going to start but doesn't. Now we checked the computer for a code but it doesnt have one stored. Now could that be the ECU or the any of the sensors on the engine. My friend is a certified mechanic knows little about Dsm's but he said he would check some sensors. Anything would help me at this time.

Does it backfire? If so then your plug wires are in the wrong firing order. Is the 1G cam sensor wired in appropriately with the 2G crank and cam sensor wires? I've noticed you said nothing about having fuel but you do have spark. Does it start with starter fluid?

Check www.magnusmotorsports.com & www.roadraceengineering.com and look through their articles that go over the swap. Once these items are check then we can help you pinpoint the porblem if the car still won't fire up.
 
yes we do have fuel. I thought i said that in my last post.
I did go to magnus and everything looks pretty much the same but i am not sure about the wiring on those sensors I took that diagram into my mech and he said things looked the same. Before i got the engine the balance shafts were taken out and we just practically rebuilt the motor new pistons rod bearings everything is like new.:dsm:
 
Might be stupid, but, you said you swapped the 1g motor into your car, but you haven't said anything about a rebuild. have you checked compression on the engine.? If the compression is really low, you might not get it to start at all.. Just a thought.
 
had the same problem with my 6 bolt swap, are you using the 2g cam and crank sensors if so the crank sensor is crap they usually fail, if this is what you are using you need to wire the 1g cam sensor, and you will need to change the injector pins in the ecu and change the order of you spark plugs 1,4 switch with 2,3. lemme know if this works if not i have some other ideas
 
Is the crank and cam shafts on TDC? If they aren't aligned correctly and you cranked it over chances are you bent a valve and that is why it won't start. If it was me I would go back double check all my timing marks and then where you have fuel and spark, I would break out the manual and ohm check your cam/crank angle sensors make sure they are in spec. yes it was the plug wires, they were out of order also we adjusted the CAS and she fired up but I also have another question if you guys dont mind. I just got the car back today and it runs ok. It vibrates a lil bit but i guess that from the balance shafts being out and all. but it revs up really quick also. Would taking the balance shafts out make my check engine light come on? Just wondering. My other question was my car stalls some times when i have it in nuetral,(with the clutch in of course)
what should it be idling at while out of gear.
Cuz i dont know much about the idling and what its supposed to be at but it looks like its set to low cuz its seems like its barely hanging on while just in nuetral, unless thats just the way manual transmissions are.
