A few months ago I dropped in a 6-bolt into my 97 TSi AWD. After running around for a while, my stock 2g turbo started leaking oil and I replaced it with a big 16g. Now, 2 months later, my big 16g is leaking oil and has approximately 1/8" of shaft play. I make a conscious effort to check the oil (since I blew a rod bearing in my 7-bolt due to low oil) so I'm positive that the turbo hasn't been staved for oil. I realized something was wrong with my big 16g when it started screaming as I approached boost. Now I cannot even get it to boost period. What am I doing wrong or do I just have that bad of luck??

you sure its not getting to much oil pressure? or maybe a kink, blockage, or not straight down path for the return line?

what size feed and return lines are you using?

If you are pulling oil from the head that might be the problem. get it from the oil filter adaptor

I'm using the feed and return lines from the 2g install kit I got from Buschur Racing and I'm not sure their size. The feed line is pulling oil from the head and not the filter adapter that you mentioned. Where is this oil filter adapter kit located? I'll do just about anything to get, and keep, my car running. I also noticed that my wastegate is cracked around the housing where the actuator arm goes into the main part. I think my car is just possessed.

Def get an upgraded oil supply from filter. The head feed only delivers enough pressure for stock boost levels.

I've been pulling oil from the head on my 6 bolt swap to an AGP T28 for a little over 3k now, running around 1.1 bar. No problems, no shaft play.

I don't think it's the pulling oil from the head as the reason, but I'm willing to bet that the oil feed line to the turbo is probably crap.
