Ok trying to find out what this turbo is? I bought it on dsmtrader from a guy that said it was a super 20g. Well it is deff. not a super 20g considering it says garrett right on it. Anyway. I would like to know if anyone can tell me what it is, how much hp it can produce, how much boost I should run on it, and if anyone knows what kind of compressor wheel it has on it? T3 or T4 60 trim maybe? Is ref. to other turbo's is it smaller/bigger than a 16g? It is much much much bigger than my t-25, like almost 2.5 times bigger/heavier.
I have fuel mods done(super afc2, 3"gm maf/trans, 550 inj, walbro 255), along with xs duel boost controller, Apexi FMIC, Apexi RACE bov.

About the turbo:

It has the garrett M24 stamp on the compressor side. It has a 1.5" exit on the compressor, and 2" intake. The compressor wheel has 2 blades per set, and 6 sets of blades.
On the exhaust side it has Garrett .64 696-2 T 695 stamped. It has internal wastegate. The bolt up flange has a 1" adapter flange, and the hole is a 1"3/4 by 1"1/2 rectangle. The adapter plate bolts up to a 1g/2g manifold but the manifold has a round hole vs the rectangle hole that is much smaller than the round hole on the manifold. The exhaust wheel looks like it could be clipped????

Any help would be great.

Thanks

They put Garrett t3/t4 in Chrysler? It has a t3 flange on it. What makes you think its a super 60 vs a Garrett T28, or other T3/T4 hybrid? As for the boost/hp capablitites? About the same size as a 16g? Size wise its much bigger than the 16, but CFM, and boost not sure.

About a month ago, I got that picture in an email from someone asking what it was. It is some sort of T2 based turbo with some ####ed up looking adapter flange on it. It could be a T22, T25, or T28. Take measurements with a dial caliper of the inducer and exducer diameters of both the turbine and compressor wheels. Post them here or email me.

On the center housing, there might still be a small rectangular tag with a Garrett P/N xxxxx-xxxx

If not, measure it if you really want to know what it is. Either way, sell it, because at the very best it is almost as good as a small 16G.

Edited because my panties are in a knot.

I was stating what it looked like, I pulled one of a lebaron at a pick a part 2 weekends ago and thats what it looked like.

I asked the guys at performance techniques in san bernadino what it was and they told me its a super 60, which is only as good as a 16g by looking at the map.

And as it being a dsmtrader rip off and the pick a part let us take the turbo for 50$ I was assuming it was the same deal.

To be honest I didnt even read what he said about it just went by the picture.

Thanks for playing nice ben, not all of us get to play with every turbo known to man all day :D

Trust me I have tried to sell it, and tried to give it back to the guy that sold it to me. Does size really matter? When I compared this turbo to my stock T-25, and my buddies Big 16g, this turbo was huge compared to both of those. The intake on the compressor side is about the same, and the exit side of the compressor is about the same, but the housing is just much bigger.

Second which I am going to include a pic for this one. Is it really worth porting out this adapter flange to mate up to my DNP tubular header?

I am sorry if my post came off harsh, that wasn't my intent.

Also can someone tell me if this exhaust wheel has been clipped by this picture? And with this O2 housing that was included with the turbo, it doesn't have the wastegate tube, its just flat. Can I use that O2 housing with a turbo that has an internal wastegate? Am I going to lose a lot of power that way?

And Ben you didn't come off harsh, just a guy who has seen this turbo before. I think a guy that was going to buy this off EBAY sent it to you. I have been doing extensive research on this turbo before I put it on my car. Hell I might just throw 30psi in it and see if it will take it, and if it blows, it blows.

Yep, it's clipped.

I was just appologizing for being a lame ass and not actually taking the time to think about what it is more. I was actually suprised you didnt flame me more.

69_luv: you went to all the pain to get that nice DNP manifold why not get a really nice turbo to go with it? You were expecting a super 20g, so why not get something like an RS43 from ben or a normal 20g from slowboy. throwing 30psi at that little guy might not be a good idea, unless knock excites you :D

Yes I dumped the money into that header thinking that I had bought a super 20g, got the header, got the turbo, not a super 20g. Now the guy won't take the turbo back, and he still claims it has a T4 60 trim compressor wheel and can create up to 500hp, and produces like 700cfm. Now I think he is full of shit, but this turbo is really big. I paid for it and now I don't have the extra grand to throw into a real super 20g. Trust me I would love to get a bigger turbo, but I have to sell this one first. I was just hoping by posting on here, someone could tell me exactly what turbo this is, if I could port it out to make it better, how much boost to run, and finding all the stuff for it. Like that o2 housing is homemade, and is flat, can I run that with the internal wastegate, or am I going to have to go by the one from forcedperformace for $300. Also with the clipped part, sense its clipped is that going to help or hurt me? Is this turbo going to spool faster than a 16g? About the same hp as a 16g right? I am porting out the adapter plate as we speak to match the dnp header, I am hoping that helps some of the flow. If anyone knows anyone that wants this turbo.......email me.....i will be glad to sell it for a reasonalbe price.
