Mysterious 7th transaxle bolt that mounts to the block

there are 7 total bolts:

two long bolts that grab the starter
one long bolt that goes on near the front
two short bolts on the front
one short bolt on top
and then theres a bolt that goes in backwards, from the block towards the tranny, and apparently its right around the driver's side axle opening on the differential.

i am missing this bolt on my tranny reinstallation. do i need its 22ft lb of torque to hold it, or will the other six suffice? if i do, what does this mystery bolt look like, because i lost the #### out of it.

i would get a new bolt just to be safe. always good to be safe. our cars break enough without us helping

the bolt looks totally different than the rest. It's smaller. the big ones are 10's and the small one is an 8. I lost mine and got one from a hardware store for 25 cents.

That bolt was a BEATCH to get out on my 90 talon when I was tearing it apart. We had to use a torch back there and melt the cv axle boot to get it out. As far as what its for Im not sure if its needed.

it is an 8 as opposed to the 10s. it's a good 2 inches long, maybe a tad more.

ty carquest; coarse threads on it. oh, it was a 13mm head...weird.

That bolt is about 4" long and it's a 12mm bolt.
