I am going to by a 6-bolt to build over the winter and I have a ? on the motors them selfs. At this site they have a 90 to 94 turbo 2.0 --and the other is a 90 to 94 2.0 are both the motors the same just one comes with the turbo and the other NA. Does the turbo have a better bottom end or better head and which would I want to throw into my 98gst.SORRY GUYS I have 2 more questions will I need a diffrent trans to mount up to this motor or does the 7bolt trans mount up to it. The only reason I ask about the motors is the turbo motor is $1,393.00 and the other is $695.00 BIG DRIFFRENCE. Sorry so long the site is ((((Asapmotors.com))) Or is there a better place to buy a good 6-bolt.

Thanks AJ

You need to do a search on some of these items as they already exist. FYI some years 92 and 93-94 is a 7 bolt motor. Buy the turbo motor for various reasons. The oiling system in the turbo motor is different than the NA motor. The cooling system on the turbo motor will support the turbo if its water cooled. All around it makes the install easier.

As for the tranny it will fit all the motors but you will need to keep your starter plate that mates between the block and tranny to make it work. You will also need to cut off the counterweight off the tranny shifter linkage as the coolant hose off the 6 bolt won't clear.

Any other questions you have concerning a 6-bolt swap can be answered by simply doing a search. Good luck. My 6-bolt swap sucked major ass but now I'm glad its over.

From May of 92 and beyond all 4G63s were 7 bolts. The NA motors do not have the oil squirters in the block and the water pipe does not have turbo coolant provisions. You could easily get a 1G turbo water pipe and proceed with a typical 6 bolt swap. The oil squirters have no effect other than keeping piston temps down. Your 2g tranny would bolt up if iti is a manual. Make sure if you get the right flywheel for you drivetrain.
