POLL: Where would you want to get your engine built at

Where would you watn to get your engine built at?

Stage 3 for head and block or something thats close to
$3000 for block
$1700 for clyinder head

and if you want to add what turbo you would put on that would be great!

I have had my motor for over 2 years now. It was built by magnus, stage 3 block. Thing has been ####ing rocking, took 150 shot on top of 27#'s of boost on the street a couple times, I overheated it, blew out all my oil, etc. The thing just won't quit, the amount of abuse I have put on it and the fact that it keeps running without missing a beat just astonishes me. I did a compression check about 1 month ago on it to, perfect across all cylinders.

What more could you ask for?

You "United States" guys (or, "State"). What the hell, where ARE you? Go with your closest shop unless you can find something worthwhile against them at goodguybadguy.org.

Magnus has a terrific reputation, but so does Buschur. And all shops have unhappy customers as well. Are you going to get involved, or just send a check? Some guys work best unbothered, and some are sociable characters who want to work with you.

Yeh...most shops that have a "big" name...have a good reputation...the ones that don't, have a bad reputation. In my case, I would go with either DSS...since I live in SLO and Mike does EXCELLENT engine work...or Magnus. I've seen some stuff Mike does...and he is very uhh whats that word....well all the work is done with percise detail. He uses torque plates when machining and, I don't know...I just trust him.

And he has a 500hp 4g63 sitting in his garage right now.

i have a question for you. (stik6shift00) i has looking for motors as well and have about the same budget as you for the block and im not getting a head if i dont have to. i was just wondering if you had called any of the places and got quotes on howmuch they would be. i've been looking at the ffwd connection ones but havent had any time to call and get a price. if not have you recieved any other prices from the others listed. thanks

I have a buschur stage 3 block and while I'm still kinda breakin it in, I can say nothing but good things so far.

i would build it at Road Race Engineering i called them they the most about DSM IMHO i was amazed with there knowledge

Don't count out Mike Huml at Slowboy racing. I've heard good things about his stuff too, as well as having some of the best customer service I've seen.

i just assume build my own motor,i am confident in my ablilities and if something goes wrong i can blame it on myself and not have to worry about some shop telling me that i'm an idiot and its my fault that the motor spun a main bearing or whatever.
