145- 150 psi is great for an engine. 155 is pretty much the best but u know your looking for a rebuild once your down to like 120 or less.

Really? I get 175 across the board on my 97 engine and 160-165 on the 95 engine. I was thinking of rebuilding the 95 since it was "so low". Guess not anymore......

2G's have higher compression than 1G's. 175 is fine for a 2G. Not sure how low you can go before rebuild so I dont know how bad you 160-165 is. Maybe a 2G guy can help.

if I recall according to the service manual its supposed to be 180 across all 4

So what would be the general consensus....rebuild the 95 engine at 160?

ok 1g stock compression 7.8:1 gets 165 compression brand new, the 2g with its 8.5:1 gets 180 compression brand new. service limits is the same on both engines, i believe they state if the compression is within 15 points of each other that is fine as long as its above 120. now on the service limit thing i am 90% sure, but the comp. values i am 100% sure. hope this helps
